  • An enjoyable read

I read the entire book in less than two days: it's an entertaining novel with a good pace, which is easy to read despite the fact that in some parts the narration becomes a bit stuffy (especially in the inner monologues in the first half of the novel). The narrative patterns are typical of the genre, many plot points have been elsewhere, but that's okay: it's what the reader expects from a novel like this, and the author is perfectly aware of it. The academic setting allows the novel to stand out from the crowd of other similar novels, but it's not invasive. The ending is predictable, but still sweet and satisfying. In conclusion, I think it's a good read, undemanding, but very enjoyable.

  • Loved it! But I wish it was dual POV.

This was so cute and witty! Their banter is hilarious. I was reading it while visiting family, and couldn't keep the smile off my face. I'm sure they all thought I was crazy. I just wish it was dual pov. I really want to know Adam's thoughts through the whole thing. (Hint. Hint. Fanfiction writers!)

  • Great feel good rom com

I really enjoyed this book! The main characters were very likeable and even though I was fairly confident it would have a happy ending the storyline still had me turning the pages quickly to see what would happen.

  • A New Favorite!

This book checked all of my boxes and was an absolute joy to read. It was adorkably wonderful and gave my heart all the flutters and swoops that I love to feel. The Love Hypothesis combined so many of my favorite tropes like fake dating, "I hate everyone but you", slow burn enemies to friends to lovers, etc, and leaned into them so perfectly. All the pining and longing had my heart beating so fast and every loaded glance and near touch had me swooning. I'm always a sucker for those thoughtful little gestures and gifts that slowly add up, and The Love Hypothesis had them in spades. I adored Adam and Olive and their chemistry and the build up between them was so well done. I nearly combusted when things finally boiled over *bites fist* and I'm honestly still fanning myself. I loved all the aspects of their friendship and relationship because they connected on so many levels. The banter between them, as well as all their friends, was hilarious and I laughed so hard. I loved that they all gave as good as they got. In addition to loving Olive and Adam, I adored the secondary characters just as much (well, besides a certain "good friend", but even he played his role so vilely). Anh and Malcolm are the ride or dies that we all want and need in our lives. Their found family was a highlight of the book for sure. The Love Hypothesis is definitely one of my favorite reads of 2021 (and ever!) and I can't wait to read what Ali Hazelwood writes next! CW: cancer, death of parent, bullying, sexual harassment *I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book*

Im obsessed. By chapter 4 i was sad it was going to be over at some point. I could not put it down. FAVOURITE book of the year. When you start it, make sure you have time to binge read. Im in love with Adam and Olive. Has multiple tropes that i love. It will be my first recommendation to others moving forward.
