  • The Lies I Tell

I will be adding Julie Clark to the list I have of must read authors. Her newest story, The Lies I Tell, is excellent. Ms Clark has the reader rooting for the con artist. The Lies I Tell really has two main characters, Meg and Kat. Each of their chapters are page turners. I want to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for an early copy to review.

  • Twisted!

Wow! What a twisted journey this was! I loved this con story more than I could ever imagine. The con within a con intrigued me and with each additional bit of information shared with the reader, I became more engrossed in the story of these two ladies. While Kat and Meg each had things that were undesirable for a heroine in a story, they were both some of the most interesting characters I’ve read in quite some time. I was sure that I would find myself harshly judging Meg, despite her early beginnings. There were definitely times that her actions merited that judgment. However, as her journey is slowly revealed and each layer of her past and the progression that brought her into the current time and place is exposed, I actually was cheering her on. And I didn’t have a clue how it was all going to end. Kat was a bit harder to connect with, which was surprising considering her place in the story. However, a twist here, another there, and I couldn’t wait to see what Kat’s end result was going to be. I have to confess, I had a lump in my throat as I read those last few lines. This has a slower pace to it, but was impossible to put down. Nothing is repetitive and while this isn’t filled with drama, danger, and lots of action, it was fraught with tension as these characters move through the inevitable actions they’ve either designed or hunted for. I highly recommend this to those who enjoy a mystery within a mystery and unique characters that you’ll never forget.

  • Great storyline!

If you are looking for an edge of your seat page turner, look no further because this is the book for you. I was hooked from the first few pages and my interest never wavered clear to the end. The story is told from two points of view. Kat is a journalist hoping for a big break at the newspaper where she works and Meg works at the Y signing in people and living in her vehicle. When their paths cross, all sorts of things happen! That's all I want to tell you because I do not want to give any spoilers in this fast-paced riveting book. Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for the ARC of this spell-binding book that kept me up way past my bedtime.

  • Loved it

I don’t usually read these type of books (women’s psychological thrillers) but thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author, who provided me with this arc in exchange for an honest review, I have expanded my horizons. I am glad I did. It reeled me in from the beginning and I could not put it down. This book is about a con artist (Meg) and the journalist (Kat) who blames Meg for a horrifying act that caused changes in Kat’s life. Kat investigates Meg so that she can expose her for her criminal acts. But, of course nothing is ever as it seems-revenge or justice?
