  • Historical Fiction

It is an interesting story that takes places in the 1890s in Georgia it is an opportunity to read about racism and sexism against blacks, asians and women. The story itself was a bit dry learning more about that era motivated me to forge forward

  • The Downstairs Girl

I loved the characters in this book. Jo was so kind in spite of all the unkindnesses she had to endure. Old Gin's love and devotion for her came right off the pages into my heart. I was so happy that he recovered and was able to know that Jo had succeeded in the race. I also learned some southern history that I had not known.
